Hey! I‘m Mia, from Glenburn, Maine in Symbol for a Theory. I play mainly the keys, baritone saxophone, trombone, bass guitar, and I sing; moreover whatever instrumentation works for what we are playing at the moment! I have been playing piano since four years old, singing since before I can remember, I picked up the trombone 5 years ago and picked up the bari saxophone and bass guitar fairly recently within the last year. I have also been nominated several times for District V, BSYO, and for MSYM. For school, I currently am section leader in my band for trombone. As far as my own personal music taste, I listen to pretty much everything; especially music that‘s technical and inspires me to write my own songs! „I live the dream, I hope to be who I believe in“ - Michael Kiwanuka (You Ain‘t the Problem) In addition to music, I also love learning languages, skiing, sailing, tennis, marine biology, history, cooking/baking, learning overall, and continuing to become the best version of myself I can be.

Miles
My name is Miles. I have been playing the drums since I could hold drumsticks in my hands. I am from Glenburn, Maine. And I have been playing with MAMM for 3 to 4 years now. My favourite music is Jazz, Rock and Roll, and Electric. I don't have a favourite song or artist, I have a very eclectic taste in music. But, when in the shower I listen to songs such as but not limited to Honky Cat by Elton John. On the way to school, I usually listen to Cheek to Cheek by The Odd Chap. It helps my mom and I get in the zone for a good day. Playing music helps me de-stress from school and helps me try new things when I need to. My other passions are cooking, chillin, and video gaming. Overall I am sometimes a weird kid that is friendly.

My name is Nick and I am from Plymouth, Maine. I have played bass guitar since the age of nine. I liked it so well I took up electric guitar at age 12. I also play drums in the school marching band. I participated in MAMM SLAM two years ago and joined Bangor Rocks that Fall. My favorite genre is metal, my favorite artists are Trivium (the guitarist and I have the same guitar teacher!!!), and my favorite song is “Down from the Sky” by Trivium. My favorite quote is: “What’s nice about metal is it’s always there in the US and the UK, I think metal is in an odd spot, it’s looked at as a genre of music and less as a lifestyle and lifelong commitment. It’s beyond music to us. It’s a lifestyle to us.” Matt Heafy My other interest is recording music, whether it’s mine or someone else's. I will be attending New England School of Communications in the fall of 2021. My other interest is collecting guitars, basses and music equipment. My awards include Middle School band award, Berklee College Judge’s Choice award, and I was chosen as “Most Musical” of my Senior Class Superlatives. I also played in my high school’s Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, marching band, Show Chorus and Drama all four years of high school.

My name is Thomas. I am 15 years old, and I live in Hampden, Maine. I started playing the guitar when I was 13 years old. I began by taking lessons with Bill Pierce, and participated in my first MAMM Summer Camp in August, 2019. Since then, I participate in any MAMM opportunity that is available. Additionally, I play in my school Jazz Ensemble and Bands. I really don't have a favorite genre, I listen to a bit of everything. However, my all time favorite artists are Eddie Van Halen, Joe Pass, Gregg Howe, and Tosin Abasi. When I am not playing music I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and listening to music.
