The BitterRoots is an all-girl band with an indie pop sound infused with folk. All the band members play multiple instruments and contribute to the writing process of their original songs. With four singers, the band creates unique harmonies and an array of styles. The BitterRoots are currently working on an original EP coming out this summer.

Eliza
Eliza is a singer, guitarist, flutist, and more from Portland, ME. She has been singing all her life, but really started playing instruments at the age of 13 when she fell in love with rock music. At 14, she joined MAMM and has since been in three bands, including the one she is in now, The BitterRoots. Outside of MAMM, Eliza did the PATHs Music Program her senior year of high school and is currently working on recording a solo album. Besides music, she is a dedicated dancer and does theater as well.
Audrey
Hello! My name's Audrey and I'm from Portland. I love to harmonize and sing lead. I've also been playing bass and piano for several years. I've done musical theater for about six years! I would love to be a part of a Mamma Mia or Grease musical production one day. My favorite genre of music would have to be older r&b/soul. I love Amy Winehouse!!! Right now, my favorite song is "Hypotheticals" by Lake Street Dive... it always gets me in the mood to dance or go roller skating!

Maggie
Maggie began her musical career in 3rd grade when she started playing the fiddle. The next year, she attended her first MAMM program at the age of nine. Since then she has picked up many more instruments, including guitar and bass, as well as contributing to the songwriting process with her band The BitterRoots.
Molly
My name is Moly I am a senior at Westbrook High School. I started taking drum lessons with MAMM in 2014, I have been in multiple bands throughout the years including MAMM’s summer camps, but the one I am in now is my favorite, The BitterRoots. With The BitterRoots, I not only contribute by playing the drums but I get to play other instruments like the trumpet to add more depth to one of our originals. Music is one of my hobbies, another hobby of mine is photography, I also love to travel. I will be going to Florida in the fall for college, I will be in the Animal Studies program at Eckerd College. I am grateful for all of the opportunities I have had to be able to play at some amazing venues in Portland through MAMM.
