MAMM ROCK CAMP:
An opportunity for kids to play in a band, perform covers and write original music. Accomplished educators and members of local bands offer inside tips on self-promotion, booking, gigging, the history of rock and music theory. Campers also interface with professionals from the music biz while on several field trips to local radio stations and recording studios. It's the total rock star treatment! Looking for a sleepover camp? Rock N Roll All Night at the University of Maine at Machias is offered August 12-16.
ROCK N ROLL ALL NIGHT OVERNIGHT ROCK CAMP :
A camp designed to offer kids the opportunity to play in a band, perform covers and write original music. Accomplished educators and members of local bands offer inside tips on self-promotion, booking, gigging, the history of rock and music theory. Campers also interface with professionals from the music biz while on field trips to local radio stations - it's the total rock star treatment! Camp is help at the University of Maine at Machias - the highlight is performing LIVE at The 38th Annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival (August 16-18). The town rolls out the blue carpet in a FREE celebration of the powerful little fruit with crafts, food, entertainment, contests, and all things blueberry. Located on northern part of Maine's beautiful rugged coast, Machias offers whale watching, lighthouses, hiking, kayaking, eagles and lobster rolls - it's the perfect summer getaway. $300/day camp, $630/single room overnight, $655/double room overnight.
RECORDING STUDIO CAMP:
This camp is a recording musicians' dream! Students learn the fundamentals of recording a rock band in a state-of-the-art recording studio with one of Portland's top engineers. The camp is held at The Studio and led by engineer Jim Begley, a 14-year resident engineer at The Studio and live sound engineer of choice for countless bands and venues.
Recording Studio Camp is a hands-on camp. This camp covers all the basics: pre-production, mic placement, over-dubbing, mixing, mastering, and inside tips and tricks of the trade. Not only will students be using the same top-notch gear as the pros, but they will be working on a recording of a real live band! This year's session band is Beware of Pedestrians who recently won the 2013 MAMM SLAM: Maine's High School Rock Off!The camp runs from 10am-4pm, Monday through Friday. Ages 10 and Up
MAMM JR. ROCK CAMPS:
Provides the youngest rock stars (8-10) with a basic introduction to the genre. While at Jr Rock Camp, students are introduced to the instruments used in rock n roll and will learn how to play in a band. Campers also participate in fun music games and activities.

MAMM GUITAR CAMP:
A week long introduction to all things guitar from the most fundamental aspects of playing, including identifying the specific parts and types of instruments, to instruction on techniques, music theory, musical appreciation, as well as guest speakers and performers from the local music scene. A three-day mini camp is being offered in July for those who need a refresher.
COVERS:
Campers form ensembles and learn how to play covers of popular songs from their favorite bands like AC/DC, Green Day and The White Stripes.
GIRLS ROCK:
Instructors Emilia Dahlin and Katie Gilchrest inspires girls to ROCK at this all girl's camp. Campers hone their instrumental skills, as well as form ensembles and learn to play together live.
SONG WRITING:
Campers form bands and learn how to write original songs that are performed live at the end of the week.
ROCK 101:
Learn how to run a rock band - become "tight" by fine-tuning cover songs, developing marketing strategies, branding and writing original songs.
FOGCUTTERS:
The Fogcutters are a 19-piece big band that thrives on being unconventional. Over the past three years, The Fogcutters have pushed big band into a whole new category - from writing new original big band material to Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder, Rage Against the Machine, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and much more - The Fogcutters do it all. This camp is an exclusive learning opportunity for teenagers to explore the endless possibilities of big band music. They will be studying with members of The Fogcutters and will be learning to play exclusive Fogcutters charts that aren't available anywhere else. Campers will learn about arranging, music theory, and several different music styles. They will also learn the cold hard facts about what it takes to be a musician in the real world! Tips on what it takes to be a professional musician and how to run a band, from formation, to marketing, branding, copyrighting and much more. Don't miss out on this fun and unique camp experience!
MAMM HIP HOP SUMMER CAMP:
Four areas of Hip Hop are covered: MCing, DJing, graffiti, and dance. Campers have the opportunity to develop basic skills in all of these areas in a collaborative environment with local artists from Portland's renowned Hip Hop community.
