About MAMM

MAMM: The Maine Academy of Modern Music’s mission is to operate and support an independent music school focused on rock and contemporary music and dedicated to creating positive life experiences for Maine students of all ages and abilities through innovative and inclusive music programs which promote resiliency, self-expression, creativity, and determination.

Our campus is the entire state of Maine and our curriculum rocks! MAMM picks up where most other music schools leave off; we're dedicated to studying and playing the music of now, whether it's popular music from your iPod or the brand new song you've uploaded to your own band's Myspace page.

MAMM offers you:

• ROCK CAMPS over school vacation breaks and throughout the summer
• MUSIC LESSONS by the area's most talented current musicians tailored to YOU for guitar, bass, piano and
  keyboards, drums and percussion, and voice
• ROCK BANDS that match students from MAMM lessons with other students and MAMM instructors who teach individual instrumentalists how to work together and make music as a group
• GIGS using our connections at local venues to create a concert series throughout the year for MAMM bands. Your band will hit the stage at popular Portland music venues and events such as the Old Port Festival, The State Theatre, Empire Dine and Dance, The SPACE Gallery, and more!
